Our Story

a little about the Broyles Design Group

Why did this company form?

At a recent conference at SCAD, an art college, I realized the power of exploring the vast array of artistic careers available. Why shouldn’t students have to opportunity to start working towards their passions and figuring out what path will take them there.

We are also immersed in a digital culture where visual images dominate our world. It is now so important to know how to interpret images and create artworks that give a platform to student voice.

Even using various skills, techniques, and media, we can all still connect, share, and give feedback to support each other in the telling of stories, and the exploration of ideas and emotions.

Students learn to problem-solve, evaluate resources, test solutions, utilize feedback skills, and hone collaboration skills.

Nice to meet you.

I am glad you are here.

I will help you create your path of learning. We get to brainstorm ideas for projects together, share the work we create together, learn how to reflect and critique works of art and design.

I have taught at River HomeLink for 10 years and taught middle school art for 6 years prior. I have a B.A. in History and a B.A. in Digital Technology and Culture from WSU-V. I also have a Master’s in Education from WSU-V. I became a National Board Certified Teacher in Art in 2012. I was awarded the Washington State Secondary Art Teacher of the Year Award by the Washington Art Education Association (which I am now the president of the professional association!)

I love photography, cooking, sewing and traveling. I spent 7 of my summers teaching at a Summer Day Camp in Tokyo Japan and love all things Japanese.
